The Perry House, one of Pacific Height’s Modernist masterworks, has come on the market. Built in 2002 on the site of a pair of undistinguished houses facing Alta Vista Park to the South and with open views of the Bay and Marin Headlands to the North, it was the work of the late Olle Lundgren [1954-2025] one of San Francisco’s most charismatic and influential architects. Much sought after by the Bay Area’s tech elite, he left behind a legacy of meticulous craft and material-focused architectural design, with Lundberg Architects maintaining an in-house shop for custom details. He often incorporated found objects and salvage into his projects, best exemplified by his 2012 work on the nascent Market Street Twitter HQ, and Lundberg is also remembered for the setting of some of San Francisco’s most admired restaurants, including Slanted Door and Flour+Water.
The Perry House is a perfect example of the adventurous, sculptural spirit that pervades Lundberg’s work. Built on three levels, the top floor is dedicated to the primary suite and owners’ offices; the second floor contains the entry and entertaining spaces, while the lower garden level has two guest bedrooms, the garage and a wine cellar. Joining the three levels like a gleaming ribbon is the stainless steel and stone staircase.
Below, the kitchen and a seating area look into Alta Vista Park, plus a look at the top floor primary suite’s bedroom, office and stone-clad bath.
Lundberg’s residential work rarely comes on the market, and for additional details and information, go to the listing. A unique opportunity to acquire a landmark work of architecture in one of the world’s most beautiful neighborhoods, represented by Stacey Caen and Joe Lucier of Sotheby’s International Realty San Francisco Brokerage.
